The float valve in my pull the float and cause a slow leak.?

I have a year of low volume toilets Kohler two piece 5 (I think Wellworth one?) A leak in the basin started, so the tank is emptied in about 10 minutes after filling. I changed the valve with a valve designed by Fluidmaster for my Kohler toilet. I still had the problem. Clean the valve and seat, there is a leak. I removed the float and valve seals properly and now the leak has stopped, but now I have a trip lever for about five seconds to empty bowl. If not maintained, then the valve closes immediately and hunting is incomplete. It seems that the buoyancy of the float valve strip enough to cause slow leak. SUGGESTIONS ON Everything I do?

Kohler Wellworth I have three toilets in my house, and had to replace the valve after a certain time. I replaced by a ball mark Korky flush valve which replaces # 58BP Kohler # 49 144.
