Why does the needle sink after soap is added to water?

Why after sinking the needle is inserted soap water? Give a scientific reason to score points. Note that a soap molecule is long with one end drawn up by the oil molecules and one of the ends of a soap molecule is polar, the other is nonpolar. Dssolve of soap and soap molecules float freely in water. And a sewing needle remains on the surface water. If a powderered laundry detergent is gently spinkeld near the needle, the needle eventually sink.
