Blue Glass
What is the purpose of the use of blue glass in the identification of sodium and potassium? (flame proof)?

I think understand why, but not sodium potassium. The color of potassium without lilac blue glass, right? Is it because both have a high concentration of sodium in it?

Sodium in a flame proof should appear bright yellow. When viewed through blue glass, will be green (blue and yellow = green) of potassium in a test of the flame is red / purple. When viewed through blue glass, it would be very hard to see … in any case! I hope this is of some help. Cheers:)
